Ponderosa Aero Club’s annual backcountry ground school seminar will follow the Club’s annual meeting.  Starting at 1:00 PM at Independence Indoor Shooting, the backcountry ground school is required for any Ponderosa Aero Club member who has never attended backcountry ground school and who would like to fly in the backcountry using club aircraft.  This is also a great opportunity for other club members to increase awareness and safety regarding density altitude, aircraft performance, and other aspects to mountain flying.

We are excited to announce that renowned mountain flying CFI Amy Hoover will be providing this year’s seminar!  With a PhD in educational leadership, Amy teaches mountain flying at Central Washington University, she co-founded/owned McCall Mountain Canyon Flying Seminars, and she has other entrepreneurial endeavors, including writing Mountain, Canyon, and Backcountry Flying along with Dick Williams, published last year.  Amy even flew for our hangar-mate SP Aircraft in the 1990’s!
