SUMMARY:Exchange of flight controls-PARTY
DESCRIPTION:Friday nov 1 about 4-7 Exchange of flight controls-PARTY \nAt Ponderosa building \nIt’s a big day at Ponderosa– Janna is handing the controls to Dave as general manager of the club. To mark this big day what better excuse to have a party? Come celebrate Janna’s new flying job and Dave’s enthusiasm for the club with pizza\, paper planes\, movie and plane rides. What? Plane rides? \nYeah\, in the spirit of the club a few generous active club members are offering to do short flights to get brand new or inactive club members back in the air. (of course\, good airplane etiquette says you should offer to pay for part of the flight.) Want to go for a flight or offer to fly? Please let us know or write your name on the sign up sheet on the bulletin board in the building. \nDon’t forget\, two days before the party is an enrichment opportunity.\nWhat’s a 100hr inspection anyway?\nWednesday\, October 30th 6pm \nAirframe and Powerplant (A&P\, IA) mechanic Trevor Davidson has been doing much of the work on the club planes for several years. He has offered to do a show and tell for club members to share what a 100 hour inspection require. Why do we do them? Why do they take so long? How can you help the mechanic? What should you squawk when you are renting\n-and more importantly\, when should you not fly an airplane. I hope you can join us at this very informative informal program.  Hopefully we can time the event when an airplane is actually in for a 100hr

SUMMARY:Treasure Valley Chapter Idaho Aviation Association November Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Agenda: \n5:30 – 6:30pm Social Hour – Burgers and Bratwurst on the BBQ / Beer and Drinks – bring your appetite and thirst and a $5 contribution to offset the food and beverage. \n6:30pm Presentation by Roland Steadham – join us to learn more about backcountry weather and view some of Roland’s exceptional backcountry video production work. \n“Roland has been a meteorologist for 35 years. If fact\, he’s spent half of his career forecasting hurricanes and severe thunderstorms in South Florida. The other half has been spent in the west with most of his time in Utah. His experience ranging from tropical weather to blizzards makes him uniquely qualified to be the Chief Meteorologist for KBOI 2 News. After working from coast to coast\, he and his family have decided that there is no place like the west with Boise being the highlight of his career. Roland is married with six children. He is the son of a Cuban immigrant and proud of his Latin heritage. He also speaks fluent Spanish. When he’s not forecasting the weather he spends much of his time with his head in the clouds. You see\, he’s also a commercial licensed pilot and avid skydiver. He’s logged over 3\,000 hours flying everything from competition aerobatics to twin engine jets and gliders. He also has over 700 skydives under his belt. Roland attended Brigham Young University and the University of Utah. He finished his education through the Mississippi State Meteorology Program. Roland has been awarded both the American Meteorological Society and National Weather Association Seal of Approval.” \nCome out and join us for a little dinner and social time and an interesting and informative presentation. Please RSVP if you can to assist in planning food and drink. \n  \nJohn Davis \nDirector – District 3 \nIdaho Aviation Association \nwww.idahoaviation.com \n208-867-4600 \n
